Danbury Sex Ring Leader Pleads Guilty
Robert King ran a sex trafficking ring that preyed upon the mentally disabled for over 20 years.

DANBURY, CT — A man accused of running a sex trafficking ring for more than two decades pleaded guilty in court Friday as part of a deal offered from prosecutors, The News Times is reporting.
Robert King was arrested two years ago along with two clients following an investigation by local and federal authorities. King was accused of targeting men in their 20s with mental heath problems, befriending them, offering them drugs, and then selling them into prostitution to pay off their drug debts. Fifteen victims have been identified, but prosecutors indicated the total number might be in the hundreds.
King says that he disputes the allegations made against him but accepted the deal out of respect for the victims' family members. Those include Lin Marino, whose son committed suicide nine years ago after being victimized by the sex trafficking operation.
