Danbury Social Security Office Closes for Two Months
Closed for renovation and expansion, the Danbury Social Security Office is expected to reopen in two months.
The Social Security Office in Danbury at 131 West St., is closed for renovation and expansion for the next two months, and the Internal Revenue Service, which is located in the same building completed its recent expansion, and it will move into the new space within the next month.
The IRS office isn’t moving elsewhere. It is spreading out into more office space in the same location it has now at 131 West St. Although the Social Security Office is temporarily closed, it will reopen in the same location in about two months once its expansion is completed.
According to the Social Security Administration, other Social Security Offices are open and available for people needing help in Norwalk, Waterbury, Ansonia, Torrington and Bridgeport. Danbury residents who have business with the Social Security Administration can go to one of those offices, call 1-800 772-1213 or visit www.socialsecurity.gov.
