Danbury St. Patrick's Day Parade Fundraiser is on Sun. Feb. 9th

The Danbury Irish Cultural Center will hold its annual St. Patrick's Day Parade benefit concert at Molly Darcy's with live music & more.

DANBURY, CT — It's that time of year again—the time to break out your best green and plaid threads and experience the sights and sounds of the Emerald Isle right here in Danbury! The annual Danbury St. Patrick's Day Parade Fundraiser will be held on Sunday, Feb. 9th from 1:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Molly Darcy's, 39 Mill Plain Rd. Danbury. Celtic Cross Pipes & Drums, Patrick Hearty of Mighty Ploughboys, Steve O'Tree & Friends and Highland Rovers will be playing traditional Irish songs.

Irish dancers from three local schools will perform including Danbury's own Thorne Academy of Irish Dance, Newtown's Ashurst Academy, and Bethel-based Doherty-Petri School of Irish Dance.

Entry to the event is $15 which includes nonstop live entertainment, a delicious Irish buffet and a chance to win raffle tickets from sponsors The Ridgefield Playhouse, The Prospector Theater, and Danbury's Palace Theater. UK Gourmet donated a food basket to be raffled that is valued at over $150. The prize details are as follows:

In addition to raffle tickets for sale for as low as $2 each, parade t-shirts will be for sale for $20 each. There will also be a 50/50 raffle with all proceeds being donated to the Danbury St. Patrick's Day Parade.

The 25th Annual Danbury St. Patrick's Day Parade will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2020. The parade steps off that day in front of St. Peter Church on Main St. in Danbury at 2:00 p.m., turns onto West St., continues on to Lake Ave. and ends at the Greater Danbury Irish Cultural Center (GDICC) where there will be live Irish music, dancing, food and fun! Families are invited into the Heritage Room at the GDICC for the post-parade party. Corned beef sandwiches and/or Shepard's Pie will be available for sale.
