Danbury State Senator To Seek Fifth Term
The incumbent Democrat serves the communities of Danbury, New Fairfield, and Ridgefield.

DANBURY, CT — Danbury's state senator announced last week she's seeking a fifth term in office this year.
State Sen. Julie Kushner, D-Danbury, said she will seek re-election to represent the 24th State Senate District in Connecticut.
Kushner, first elected in 2018, represents nearly 100,000 constituents in Danbury, Ridgefield, and New Fairfield.

Kushner is Senate chair of the Labor and Public Employees Committee, is vice-chair of the Appropriations Committee, and is a member of the Children, Education, Public Health, and Executive & Legislative Nominations committees.
“I’ve been very fortunate over the past few years to have been a driving force behind some very valuable new programs for people working in Connecticut: minimum wage increases, paid family and medical leave, expanded paid sick days, and more. I’m looking forward to continuing the kind of work that contributes to an improved quality of life for families living here in Connecticut,” Kushner said in a statement.

“Over the next few years, we as a state are going to have to continue to deal with the fallout of some very bad federal policy decisions that are driving up costs here in Connecticut. I plan to be laser-focused on issues of affordability like groceries, health care, and housing to help bring down costs for families.”
