Danbury Woman Is Accused of Stealing, Pawning Friend's Engagement Ring
The suspect is facing a felony larceny charge.

A Danbury woman is facing a felony grand larceny charge in connection with the reported theft of a friend’s engagement ring.
New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Wappinger barracks arrested the suspect on Aug. 3 following their investigation of a larceny in East Fishkill, NY.
On July 31, troopers were dispatched to an East Fishkill residence for a larceny complaint. Police said the victim informed police that her engagement ring was missing and she believed that her acquaintance, Carla Cardoso, 44, may have stolen the ring while she was visiting.

An investigation conducted by the Wappinger Bureau of Criminal Investigation revealed that Cardoso had stolen the ring in July and sold it at a Danbury area pawn shop, police said.
Cardoso was arrested on a charge of fourth-degree grand larceny, a Class E Felony. Cardoso was issued a ticket to appear before the Town of East Fishkill Court on Aug. 12.
