Updated: Danbury Woman Killed In Interstate 84 Accident

The woman was struck by a tractor trailer, state police say.

The identity of the woman struck and killed in Tuesday’s accident has been released. According to Fox News, Police have identified the victim as Gayle Difelco, 58 of Danbury. The truck was driven by Michael Hess, 47 of Mattawamkeag, Maine.

A 58-year-old Danbury woman was struck and killed Tuesday night by a tractor trailer on Interstate 84 in Danbury around 8 p.m., the News Times reports.

According to state troopers, Michael Hess, 47, of Maine was driving in the right lane westbound in a tractor trailer near Exit 6, and as Hess came upon the other car, the woman got out and was hit by tractor trailer, the News Times reports.

The identity of the deceased will be delayed for some time as the next of kin is out of the country. No charges have been filed and police are investigating.
