Danbury's Grecni Named NE-10 Conference's Women's Field Athlete of the Year

Danbury’s Michelle Grecni, a senior on the Southern Connecticut State University women’s indoor track and field team, was named the Northeast-10 Conference Women’s Field Athlete of the Year on Thursday.

Grecni has enjoyed another stellar campaign thus far that was highlighted by breaking her own school record with a NCAA automatic qualifying mark of 4.10 meters at the New England Championship.

At the Northeast-10 Conference Championship, Grecni recorded a height of 3.95m as well as a NCAA D-II provisional mark in the women’s pole vault.

Grecni will be participating in the 2015 D-II Track and Field Indoor Championship as the No. 1 seed in the women’s pole vault. The Championship begins on March 13.
