End Of An Era: Danbury's Last Strip Club Shuts Down
Èlans of Connecticut has sold its last dance.

DANBURY, CT -- After a quarter-century in the adult entertainment business, Èlans of Connecticut has closed its doors.
The upscale gentlemen's club at 82 Federal Road announced that it was shutting down on it's Facebook page:
“Sorry but after a gazillion years in the adult entertainment business, we need to retire. We are closing for good. Al is tooooo real freakin ooooold. Thanks to you, all of our clients/associates, staff and management. We wish you the best of the best.”
The club had held a bash celebrating 25 years in business in March. It sold its last dance on July 14.

Following the shuttering of Oasis Café on Shelter Rock Road by authorities in 2008, Èlans' exit leaves Danbury without a strip club. Sean Hearty, director of planning coordination for Danbury, told The News Times that current zoning restrictions on signage, advertising, and distance from residential districts, schools, churches, libraries, public playgrounds, parks and other adult business use establishments make the likelihood of other gentlemen's clubs opening in Danbury very slim.
