Esposito Named Whalers Head Coach in Danbury
Danbury Whalers Hockey Team names Phil Esposito head coach of the Federal Hockey League team.

The Danbury Whalers have named Phil Esposito of East Haven the head coach and director of Hockey Operations for the Danbury team. Esposito worked as assistant coach last year, and the team promoted 12 players to the AHL, the ECHL and the CHL. Esposito brings eight years of playing experience and 5 seasons of coaching to the job.
Esposito played youth leagues in East Haven, and in high school for the Salisbury Prep School in Litchfield. He played during the inaugural season for the New Haven Knights in the UHL. The Danbury Whalers play in the Federal Hockey League.
“Our goal in Danbury this year is focused on one target. To be the Federal Hockey League Champions,” Esposito said.
