Amber Room Run From the Sun 5K to benefit Ann’s Place

The 3^rd Annual Amber Room Run From the Sun 5K takes place on August 18th and again benefits Ann’s Place.  

Both runners and walkers can participate.  The race starts at 6:30 p.m. at The Amber Room Colonnade on Stacey Rd. in Danbury. 

The certified 5K (3.1 miles) runs from The Amber Room to Candlewood Lake and back. This year a 1 mile Health Walk will be introduced in addition to the 5K run. Both courses pass scenic water views, stately homes and old lake communities.  After the race participants are invited to a post race party featuring an outdoor barbeque, beer, ice cold beverages and live music.

JB Sports, Coordinator of the Stratton Faxon Danbury and New Haven Road Races, will coordinate this event with Jennifer Putnam of The Amber Room.  Participants can register now at www.jbsports.com or call (203) 481-5933 for information.  The first 250 pre-registered runners receive technical running shirts. Awards given to the fastest runners in numerous age groups.  Registration fee waived for those who raise $100 or more for Ann’s Place.

Ann’s Place, The Home of I CAN, provides comfort and support for people living with cancer and their loved ones.  They inspire people to create solutions which will strengthen and sustain them.  The vision of Ann’s Place is to create a sanctuary of support and resources for people living with cancer and their loved ones.
