Find Out the Best Romantic Weekend Getaways in Connecticut

A recent list has compiled the best places in the state for a romantic weekend away with someone special.

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, couples in Connecticut may find themselves looking for romantic destinations to enjoy together.

Instead of throwing tons of money at a trip to the Bahamas or Hawaii, a recent list says some of the most romantic destinations are right here in the state.

Travel website The Crazy Tourist has compiled a list of the 15 most romantic weekend getaways in Connecticut. The site highlights Northern retreats full of coastal charm, as well as class and community.

The list kicks off with the Saybrook Point Inn & Spa, a picturesque inn on the water in Old Saybrook. The inn offers romantic views, overlooking Long Island Sound everywhere guests turn.

Those hoping for an inn with a little more New England charm, however, can visit the Inn at Stonington, where guests are just steps away from restaurants, shops, galleries, and the beach. Those who encounter difficulty booking this Mystic getaway can try their luck at the Whaler’s Inn, which also earns a shoutout on the list.

In fact, Mystic is the most well-represented of any location in Connecticut; the Harbour Inne and Cottage and the Steamboat Inn also appear on The Crazy Tourist's list.

Romantic destinations in Norfolk, Niantic, and Colebrook also receive mentions, among others. Those looking for more of a city experience, however, are encouraged to book a room at the Marriott Hartford Downtown.
