Former Danbury School Employee Accused Of Stalking Student: Police

DANBURY, CT — A former Danbury school employee is facing stalking and harassment charges after police said he repeatedly contacted a former Danbury High School student and later showed up uninvited at her home.

Natale Manzo, 47, was arrested July 25 on charges of second-degree stalking, second-degree harassment and disorderly conduct, according to Connecticut Judicial Branch records.

According to an arrest warrant, the investigation began in January after police received a complaint that a male Danbury High School employee had engaged in inappropriate contact with a minor.

Manzo told police he communicated with several female students outside of school. During the investigation, police identified one former student who they said had blocked Manzo's phone number to stop further communication.

Following the incident, Manzo was no longer employed by Danbury Public Schools.

Police said Manzo continued trying to contact the former student by leaving multiple voicemail messages after his number had been blocked. Investigators said one message referenced attending the student's graduation, while another mentioned visiting her after she went to college.

The warrant also said Manzo went to the student's home on June 26, identified himself to her mother as a Danbury High School employee and said he wanted to congratulate the student on her graduation. The student's parents later sought a restraining order, according to the warrant.

During a voluntary interview with police, Manzo acknowledged stopping at the home to congratulate the student after not hearing from her, according to the warrant.

Police said his account conflicted with evidence recovered during the investigation.

Court records show Manzo posted a $10,000 bond, pleaded not guilty and is scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court on Sept. 1.
