A Half-Ton of Nails Spilled onto Danbury Road: Report

DANBURY, CT — A truck has spilled a load of 1,000 pounds of roofing nails in front of Stanziato’s Restaurant located on Lake Avenue Extension, Western Connecticut University has reported on social media.

The spiky spill occurred near the entrance to the WCSU's Westside campus.

"Please avoid taking Lake Ave. Extension to get to the Westside campus. Instead, take Kenosia Ave. or approach from Exit 2. The campus remains open and all classes and other activities are continuing," the post concluded.

Clean-up of the spill, which occurred around 12:30 p.m., is ongoing.
