Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Event Set For Danbury Area
Residents from several towns can safely dispose of household hazardous materials next month.
DANBURY, CT — Residents in the greater Danbury area will have a chance to safely dispose of household hazardous waste during an upcoming collection event, according to Wilton officials.
A Household Hazardous Waste Day is scheduled for Saturday, April 11 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Danbury Public Works facility at 53 Newtown Road.
The event is open to residents of multiple area towns, including Danbury, Bethel, Brookfield, New Fairfield, New Milford, Newtown, Redding, Ridgefield, Sherman, Weston and Wilton.

Officials said participants must remain in their vehicles at all times, and workers will remove materials directly from cars.
Accepted items include paints, cleaning supplies, pesticides, automotive fluids and other hazardous household materials.

Items such as propane tanks, batteries, tires and certain electronics will not be accepted at the event.
Residents may be asked to show identification to verify eligibility.
