Head of Danbury Housing Authority to Step Down
The Agency administers state/federal public and housing choice voucher programs for 3,300 families.
DANBURY, CT — The executive director for the city housing authority has announced her retirement.
Mary Carolyn Sistrunk, who was appointed as executive director of the Housing Authority in 2004 and appointed as president and chairman of the Board of Directors of Danbury Housing Development Corp in 2016, will be stepping down as of August 31.
"We are thankful for the work of Ms. Sistrunk and her team in turning around the Housing Authority City of Danbury to the benefit of our resident community," said Dom Chieffalo, chairman of the housing authority’s board, in a release.

HACD is a regional housing authority serving the 10-town Greater Danbury area. The Agency administers state/federal public and housing choice voucher programs for 3,300 families.
The Board of Commissioners has formed a Search Committee and will engage an executive search firm to facilitate the search for Sistrunk's replacement.
