After a successful six-medal effort at the Connecticut State Championships, including a win in the 4x800, the Immaculate Girls Track Team moved on to compete in the State Open.

At the State Open, which included only the best athletes from schools of all classes, the Immaculate 4x800m relay ran a season-best time and finished in 4th place, earning the right to compete in the New England Championships at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston, Massachusetts on March 5th. The 4x800m relay team members Nicole Merritt, Keelin Bremner, Lauren Manning, and Kayla Ondy will compete as one of 36 relay teams who will represent Connecticut and one of only three Class S teams that won the right to participate.

Head Girls Coach, Christopher Houser, shares that competing in the New England Championships has been a goal the entire season. He said, “I am very proud of our athletes and very happy that their hard work and talent continue to pay off.”
