Immaculate Student-Athletes Sign To Play At College Level

DANBURY, CT — Four Immaculate High School student-athletes committed to colleges and universities as part of Spring Signing Day on Tuesday.

These letters of intent are a contract between the student and their chosen institution and a celebrated event in high schools nationwide. Immaculate’s Mustangs were joined by parents, coaches and friends in the school’s Bobby Plumb Gymnasium to mark the big day. They included:

• Cameron Perez (Danbury) Union College Men’s Basketball (D3)
• Alyssa Hartnett (Ridgefield) Muhlenberg College Women’s Lacrosse (D3)
• Grace Soltis (Newtown) Trinity College Women’s Volleyball (D3)
• Francis McGreal (Pawling, NY) SUNY Maritime Men's Lacrosse (D3)

“This day is the culmination of four years of hard work at Immaculate that earned our student-athletes this honor and we are so proud of them,” said Immaculate Athletic Director Nelson Mingachos, who oversees more than 35 teams. “We are committed to nurturing well-rounded students and offer competitive sports programs that challenge them physically, but also develop their leadership skills and sportsmanship.”

In November 2022, Immaculate celebrated seven more student-athletes from the Class of 2023 who signed with the following schools:

• Kayla Weir (Sherman) Sacred Heart University Field Hockey (D1)
• Catherine Carboni (Danbury) University of Rhode Island Swim Team (D1)
• Colleen Blackman (New Fairfield) Ursinus College Women’s Basketball (D3)
• Caitlin Conley (Ridgefield) WestConn Women’s Softball (D3)
• Tony Reyes (Danbury) WestConn Men’s Soccer (D3)
• Chris Dobransky (New Fairfield) Drew University Men’s Soccer (D3)
