Katie Ventura Slated to Become Next Director of Danbury Library

The City Council is scheduled to vote on the proposed appointment this evening, Feb. 2.

Katie Ventura, the Danbury Library’s acting director, is Mayor Mark Boughton’s choice to fill the position permanently.

Ventura, who was assistant director, has held the top spot since December, following the departure of Director Lambert Shell, reports the News Times.

In a letter to the council recommending Ventura’s promotion, Boughton wrote, “Ms. Ventura is an accomplished professional who has served the City of Danbury with the highest of standards in her role as Assistant Library Director since November 2013. As a result of Ms. Ventura’s innovative thinking, tenacity, and leadership, The Danbury Library has seen many positive changes over the last two years.”
