Longtime Danbury Restaurant Expands With Second Location
The family-owned restaurant has served the city for nearly 30 years and is marking its newest location with an official celebration.
DANBURY, CT — A longtime Danbury Brazilian barbecue restaurant is celebrating its expansion to a second location in the city.
Minas Carne Brazilian BBQ & Bar opened at 56 Mill Plain Road earlier this year, expanding the Reyes family's longtime Minas Carne restaurant at 36 Osborne St.
The original Minas Carne has served Danbury since 1997. The new Mill Plain Road restaurant took over the former Mariposa Taqueria space and builds on the family's Brazilian barbecue concept with a bar and additional offerings.

Although the new location is already serving customers, the owners will hold an official ribbon-cutting ceremony Monday at 3 p.m. to commemorate the expansion, according to the mayor's office.
Mayor Roberto Alves is expected to attend alongside the Reyes family, the restaurant's team and state and local officials.

The mayor's office said the ceremony will also highlight the family's continued investment in Danbury and the growth of a local business that has operated in the city for nearly three decades.
