Major Crimes Down in Danbury by 16 Percent

The Police Department presented the latest unofficial numbers to the City Council this week.

DANBURY, CT — The latest statistics compiled by the Danbury Police Department shows a decline in major crime by 16 percent over the same period in 2018.

The "2019 Uniform Crime Report" was delivered to the City Council at its monthly meting this week.

The big mover was motor vehicle theft, which dropped from 83 instances in the first 10 months of 2018 to 57 over the same period this year, a reduction of 31 percent.
