ICE Agents Nab Man After Chase Through Danbury: Police

The man was wanted for a deportation warrant.

DANBURY, CT — Police have identified Samuel Coctecon Cruz as the man apprehended by agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) this morning in front of Danbury Superior Court. The man was struck by a car while trying to flee ICE agents, officials said.

Police say an officer in an unmarked car saw a disturbance in the area of 146 White Street. Upon further investigation the officer learned that a man identified as Samuel Coctecon Cruz "recklessly," in the words of the police report, ran into the roadway and was struck by a motorist.

Police later determined that Cruz was wanted for a deportation warrant and ran from ICE agents when they attempted to apprehend him on the steps of the Superior Court House.
