Update: Danbury Man Killed After Being Hit by Garbage Truck Identified

Police identified the man killed Wednesday morning after being hit by a garbage truck at Winter Brothers as Marcio DaSilva, 58, of Danbury.

Officers were dispatched to the transfer station at around 6:48 a.m. on May 13 for reports of a garbage truck striking a worker. The accident occurred at the property located at 307 White Street.

DaSilva was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the garbage truck was identified as Sylvie Dzamko, 46, of Danbury.

OSHA was notified and came to the scene.

The accident is still under investigation. Witnesses or those with information are asked to contact Officer Lance Brevard at 203-797-2156.
