Man Killed in Danbury Crash Identified

A Danbury man was killed in a motor vehicle accident on Lake Avenue Extension Wednesday evening.

Police responded to the scene around 5:07 p.m. on Lake Avenue Extension just west of the Ethan Allen Inn.

According to police, a Grey GMC Sierra City of Danbury utility truck driven by Samuel Crews, 55, of Danbury was traveling westbound on Lake Avenue Extension when it veered into the eastbound traffic lane. The truck then continued to travel off of the roadway and subsequently collided with a tree.

Crews was removed from the vehicle and transported to Danbury Hospital where he subsequently died from his injuries.
