Mariposa Taqueria To Close In Danbury, New Restaurant Planned

The restaurant's final day is March 31, with a new concept planned for the same location.

DANBURY, CT — Mariposa Taqueria will close in Danbury at the end of the month, according to a statement from the business.

The restaurant, located at 56 Mill Plain Road, will have its final day of service on March 31, the Reyes family said in a post on the restaurant’s Instagram page.

“It is with a heavy but full heart that we announce the closure of Mariposa,” the family wrote on Instagram, thanking the community for its support over the years.

The post said a new Minas Carne concept is planned for the same location, featuring a bar, snacks and additional offerings.

Minas Carne, a Brazilian barbecue restaurant, has operated in Danbury since 1997 and is known for dishes including grilled meats, rice and beans and traditional sides.

Mariposa Taqueria opened in the space after Mezon Tapas Bar & Restaurant and has operated there for several years.
