Mayor Boughton 'Lights Up' Danbury as Santa Arrives
On Saturday, December 3 Santa Claus will arrive at Library Plaza in Danbury riding a firetruck.

From CityCenter Danbury:
"Our many different cultures notwithstanding, there's something about the holidays that makes the planet communal. Even nations that do not celebrate Christmas can't help but be caught up in the collective spirit of their neighbors, as twinkling lights dot the landscape and carols fill the air. It's an inspiring time of the year". - Marlo Thomas
On Saturday, December 3rd, the eve of National Cookie Day, Santa Claus, riding a firetruck courtesy of the Beckerle Hose Company, will arrive at Library Plaza, at Main & West Streets in Danbury CT, accompanied by a lighted fire truck parade featuring decorative holiday creations by the city's volunteer firemen. There, the Mayor will "light up" Downtown and welcome folks of every age to meet and greet the jolly old man himself. The free event, hosting families, friends, and neighbors from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, always packs the plaza with a lot of good cheer.

The colorful "Light the Lights" night parade will travel from Rose Street to Elmwood Park and back to Library Plaza, where there'll be cookies (of course), carolers, and more. Bring you own cameras to take photos, and selfies are a given.
"Light the Lights" marks the end of CityCenter Danbury's 2016 year-round program of Downtown events, including the popular Concerts on the Green that lead up to "The Taste of Greater Danbury".
