Motorcyclist Critically Injured In Crash: Danbury Police

The crash is under investigation.

DANBURY, CT — A motorcyclist was critically injured in a crash Sunday morning, according to police.

At 6:08 a.m., Danbury Police Patrol units responded to a crash involving a motorcycle that struck a telephone pole, police said.

Police saw a Kawasaki EX650-F with extensive front-end damage at the base of a telephone pole, police said. The telephone pole was snapped and lying in the roadway.

The operator of the motorcycle was transported to Danbury Hospital for treatment of critical injuries.

The accident closed South Street for approximately two hours.

The preliminary investigation indicates the motorcycle was traveling southbound on South Street and left the roadway prior to the collision occurring, police said.
