New Authentic Mexican Restaurant to Open in Danbury

Puerto Vallarta serves authentic handmade tortillas, fajitas cooked in a secret family sauce, Mexican ambiance and more.

DANBURY, CT-- Puerto Vallarta, a family-owned Mexican restaurant, is opening their sixth location in Danbury in April, according to a release.

The restaurant is scheduled to open at the end of April at 98 Newtown Road, Danbury, in the former location of Bertucci’s. Puerto Vallarta serves authentic handmade tortillas, fajitas cooked in a secret family sauce, Mexican ambiance and more.

“When I opened the first Puerto Vallarta in 1991 my goal was to create an environment where the smell, flavor, color and sound embodied the beauty of my hometown of Jalisco, Mexico,” said founder and owner Esaul Rodriguez. “Now, 25 years later, I’m excited to be bringing Mexican food and an accurate taste of Mexican culture to this new location in Danbury and the surrounding communities.”

Rodriguez came to the United States in 1985 to work for his uncle’s Mexican restaurant in Oregon when he was 16. With no knowledge of the English language and $6 to his name, he worked hard and in 1999, opened Puerto Vallarta in West Hartford. As the first location grew in popularity, he opened other locations, including Newington in 2001, Middletown and Southington in 2004 and Avon in 2006.
