New Candidate Enters Race For Danbury-Area State Senate Seat
A New Fairfield resident is running for the 24th District, which includes Danbury.
DANBURY, CT — A new candidate has entered the race for a Connecticut State Senate seat that represents Danbury.
Melissa Lindsey, a New Fairfield resident, announced she is running for the 24th District, which includes Danbury and parts of New Fairfield and Ridgefield, representing nearly 100,000 constituents.
The seat is currently held by Democratic Sen. Julie Kushner, who is seeking a fifth term representing the district.

In her campaign announcement, Lindsey said she is running to bring more transparency and accountability to state government and to better represent local communities in Hartford.
Lindsey has worked in her family's Danbury-based small business and has also held roles in Danbury Public Schools, according to her campaign.
