New Details Released On When Target Plans To Open In Danbury

A 2-level Target store is scheduled to open at the Danbury Fair Mall.

DANBURY, CT — In June, it was revealed that a 126,000 square-foot 2-level Target store will open in the former Sears site at the Danbury Fair Mall.

Now, plans are before the city and are being reviewed Wednesday by the wetlands commission, Hearst Connecticut reported.

The big mystery has been when the new Target store opens and while company officials haven't revealed an opening date, mall officials did say it would be within the next two years, Hearst CT reported.

New details about Target's plans include: a customer pick-up area, new loading dock area and additional green space, Hearst CT reported.

The Danbury Fair Mall is one of New England's largest shopping destinations, anchored by JCPenney, Macy's, DICK's Sporting Goods and Primark.
