New Dog Trainer at Danbury Animal Welfare Society

The Danbury Animal Welfare Society (DAWS) has a new lead dog trainer, the organization announced in a press release.

Lisa Edwards, the owner of Three Dogs Training, a positive reinforcement dog training program in the Hudson Valley has joined the non-profit.

At DAWS, she will use her expertise to help improve the well-being of the dogs in the shelter and prepare them for adoption into permanent homes. Edwards will collaborate with the leaders of the DAWS Dog Program and lead the development of all dog training protocols at the shelter.

Edwards is a nationally certified professional dog trainer, a certified dog behavior consultant, a Pet Partners certified evaluator and instructor and an American Kennel Club canine good citizen evaluator. She is also the author of the book, “A Dog Named Boo: The Underdog with a Heart of Gold”.

John Piper, president of DAWS expressed his support at having Edwards join the organization’s dog program.
