New Retirement Community Opens In Danbury
Keystone Place at Wooster Heights held its grand opening celebration on Sunday.
DANBURY, CT — On Sunday, Aug. 15, Keystone Place at Wooster Heights held a public grand opening celebration to mark the opening of its new 140-unit independent living, assisted living, and memory care community. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held the preceding Thursday, Aug. 12.
US Senator Richard Blumenthal; US Congresswoman, Jahana Hayes; Danbury Mayor Joseph Cavo; State Senator Julie Kushner; State Representative Raghib Allie-Brennan; former Danbury Mayor and current Commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Revenue Services Mark Boughton; P.J. Prunty, President and CEO of the Greater Danbury Chamber of Commerce; Anthony Rizzo Jr., CEO, Rizzo Corporation; Keystone Place at Wooster Heights Management; and nearly 300 Fairfield County area residents and business and health care professionals were on hand between the two events to celebrate the opening of the new retirement community.
Located at 66 Wooster Heights Road in Danbury, the new retirement community includes 55 independent living apartments, 63 traditional assisted living apartments and 22 memory care apartments. As a straight rental retirement community, Keystone Place at Wooster Heights does not require a large entrance fee, buy-in or long-term commitment. The community features a variety of spacious studio, one and two bedroom/two bathroom apartment homes.

Keystone Place at Wooster Heights’ distinct assisted living and memory care programs provide personal care and supportive services, such as medication management, bathing, dressing, grooming, meals, and transportation.
In addition to meeting the growing need for senior housing in the area, the project, developed by Rizzo Corporation of Danbury generated hundreds of construction-related jobs and created new permanent employment opportunities for area residents. Additionally, an ambulance facility was constructed on the campus of Keystone Place at Wooster Heights and was donated to the City of Danbury to cover emergencies on Danbury’s west side.
