Obituary: Cassie Mae (Harps) Jordan, 89, Of Danbury
A resident of Danbury for the past 56 years, Mrs. Jordan was a retired nurse's aide, homemaker and active member of St. James AME Church.

DANBURY, CT — Cassie Mae (Harps) Jordan, 89, of Danbury, wife of the late Fred Jordan, went home to her Lord and Savior on the morning of Dec. 1, 2023.
Mrs. Jordan was born in Conway, SC on the 19th day of April, 1934, a daughter of the late Walsh and Elizabeth Harps.

Raised in the South, Mrs. Jordan attended Horry County schools and graduated from Conway High School.
A resident of Danbury for the past 56 years, coming from Conway, Mrs. Jordan was a retired nurse’s aide and homemaker.

Mrs. Jordan enjoyed playing Bingo and utilizing the Hart Bus for many shopping adventures. Most of all, she loved her church where she was a member for over fifty years, St. James AME Church of Danbury. Mrs. Jordan was a member of the church choir, missionary board, and usher board. One of her joys was singing church hymns.
She most especially cherished the time she spent with family and will be sorely missed.
Mrs. Jordan is survived by two sons, Eldwin “L.J.” Jordan and his wife Julia of New Fairfield, and Francis Jordan and his wife Theresa of Tuscon, AZ, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Jordan was predeceased by a son, James C. Jordan, and by a sister and two brothers, Savanah Smith, William Huggins and Johnny Harps.
Home Going Services will take place on Friday, December 8, 2023, at 12 noon in St. James’ AME Church, 45 Williams St., Danbury with Rev. Tamesha Mills, M. Div., Pastor officiating.
Burial will follow in Wooster Cemetery, Danbury.
Friends will be received at St. James’ AME Church on Friday morning from 10 a.m. to noon.
