Obituary: Kathleen Emmens, 77, Of Ridgefield

RIDGEFIELD, CT — Kathleen Emmens (nee McDonnell), 77, of Ridgefield, wife of Albert C Emmens, died on Sunday, July 17, 2022.
Mrs. Emmens was born in Newark, NJ on November 15, 1944, a daughter of the late John and Mary (McIntyre) McDonnell.
She lived with her family in Ridgefield for more than 45 years. Mrs. Emmens enjoyed gardening, cooking, traveling and her many years working in the attendance office at Ridgefield High School.
In addition to her husband of 57 years, Mrs. Emmens is survived by a daughter, Celeste (Samuel) Walters, two sons, Phillip (Rosemary) Emmens and Matthew Emmens, and three granddaughters, Casey Rose Walters, Finola Catherine Emmens and Molly Kathleen Emmens and her dog Seamus III. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Emmens was predeceased by her brother, James Patrick McDonnell, and sisters, Roseann Gleason and Sheila McDonnell. She is survived by her sisters Marguerite Knapp and Patricia Dalton, and by her brother, Thomas McDonnell, and many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and cousins.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, July 28, 2022, from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. A graveside prayer service and interment will follow on Thursday afternoon at 2:30 PM at Ridgebury Cemetery, Ridgefield.
