The fire at the 3-story, multifamily home was declared under control about 4.5 hours after the fire department's arrival, officials said.
DANBURY, CT — One member of the Danbury Fire Department was injured battling a blaze at a Locust Avenue residence Wednesday night. The firefighter sustained non-life-threatening injuries, was taken to the hospital, and has since been released. No civilians were injured, according to fire officials.
The DFD got the call just after 7 p.m. First responders found a 3-story, multifamily home with heavy smoke pouring from multiple sides, and a "significant" fire in the basement, extending to upper floors.
