Have you ever held a public office, whether appointive or elective?
No
Why are you seeking this office?
Provide Danbury students with the best education possible.
Please complete this statement: The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ___, and this is what I intend to do about it.
Hold the Board of Education to its beliefs:
1. Children are our first priority.
2. Education decisions and actions should be based on BEST practices in the field of education.
3. Partnership between parents, educators, students and community is important for students’ success.
4. All children can learn.
5. High expectations and accountability for all.
6. Educators should provide varied experiences and instructional opportunities to meet student’s individual needs.
7. Schools should provide safe and productive learning environments based upon mutual respect, trust and cooperation.
What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I will focus on financials, curriculum and safety.
Ensuring money is accounted for, used to better the student's experience and provide the best environment for learning.
Curriculum that fulfills parents expectations of their child's learning path.
Safe secure buildings and a needed return of student discipline to improve safety of students and facility.
If you are challenging an incumbent, in what way has the current officeholder failed the community?
The money appropriated to the schools is given in one lump sum, currently $150,000,000 this year and is spent with no oversight by the city. This needs to change, the citizens of Danbury should know where the money is being spent on a quarterly basis.
Safety of students and faculty has diminished by lack of discipline and parental accountability handed out by Administrators.
Parental right to religious, medical, and moral choices have been ignored in the schools.
What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
I would like to add elementary and middle school intramural sports.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
Achieved Assistant Chief of Fire Protection in the Air Force Reserve and ran a business with my wife Shannon, Apex Leadership Co, working with schools.
What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
If you see something wrong, fix it.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
