DANBURY, CT — The 2023 municipal election is heating up in Danbury and there are plenty of races with candidates eager to serve in elected office.

Danbury Patch asked candidates to answer questions about their campaigns and will be publishing candidate profiles as Election Day draws near.

Local store marketer Loren Daly, 45, is running for re-election to the Danbury Board of Education as a Republican. She is the current vice chair of the BOE, and holds an associate's degree in liberal arts. She has two sons, 15 and 17, and has been married for 20 years.

I have enjoyed helping the children, staff and Danbury School Community

Please complete this statement: The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ___, and this is what I intend to do about it.

Overcrowding and underfunded from the state. I plan to continue to fight to get the appropriate funds for our district and help the district work on developing plans for our continued growth.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

I am working not only for the students but the staff as well. I understand how important it is to work together to move the district forward.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

My involvement and support. The fact that I am not just a rubber stamp and do what is best for the situation. I don't make my decisions on what others are doing.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?

Be honest and straight forward but not hurtful.
