Pedestrian Struck by Car in Danbury

The pedestrian was transported to Danbury Hospital for non life threatening injuries.

A pedestrian was struck by a car early Monday morning in Danbury, police said.

Police received a call at 6:44 a.m. of a motor vehicle accident involving a black Honda CRV that was traveling east on Lake Avenue.

According to police, the operator of the car, Maria Romero, 59, of Abbott Avenue struck a pedestrian at the intersection of Lake Avenue and Westville Avenue.

The pedestrian, who police say is a student, was transported to Danbury Hospital by ambulance after sustaining non life threatening injuries.

The Danbury Police Department Traffic Unit is currently investigating the accident.
