Pickup Truck Crashes Into Danbury Home, Residents Thrown From Bed

The home is near West Wooster Street and Garfield Ave​nue, the Danbury Fire Department said in a Facebook post.

DANBURY, CT — A pickup truck smashed through the wall of a home in Danbury and three people — including two people who were inside the home — had to be sent to the hospital. Emergency responders found the red Nissan pickup truck halfway inside the home around 4 a.m. on Saturday. The home is near West Wooster Street and Garfield Avenue, the Danbury Fire Department said in a Facebook post.

The truck crashed through the home’s bedroom wall and threw two residents from their bed, police Sgt. John Krupinski told the News-Times. The homeowners said they were struck by debris.

Officers tried to ask the driver what happened but he couldn't talk, the newspaper reported. Officers reportedly smelled alcohol on the driver.

All three people were rushed to Western Connecticut Health Network Danbury Emergency Department with minor injuries. Firefighters and building officials helped clean up the debris and certify the building was stable.
