The complainant told police that her 3-year-old daughter had been assaulted by the nanny earlier in the day, which resulted in second degree burns to the child’s hands and leg.

According to police, when the mother arrived home and noticed the injuries to her child, Quilligana said the child accidentally touched the stove while she was tending to other children.

The child was treated for the injuries.

The mother reviewed the video from the hidden nanny camera and observed that the injuries were intentionally inflicted upon her daughter by Quilligana, police said.

According to NBC, at her arraignment today, Quilligana’s attorney said she is a mother of two with no criminal record. The bond was raised after prosecution argued that the mother was suspicious enough to install a hidden camera. Her initial bond was set at $100,000.

She is due back in court on April 22.

The investigation is ongoing and has been referred to the Special Victims Unit.
