Ramp to I-84 East Closes Overnight Aug. 3 for Work

There will be a detour for everyone trying to get from northbound I-684 onto 84.

New York transportation officials warn motorists that the northbound Interstate 684 Exit ramp to eastbound I-84 is expected to close at 8 p.m. on Monday, August 3, for crews to perform construction activities.

It is scheduled to reopen at 6 a.m., Tuesday, August 4:

Right lane closures on Interstate 684 northbound approaching Exit 9E (Interstate 84 East) and on Interstate 84 eastbound between Exit 20N (Route 22 Pawling) and the New York/Connecticut Border are also expected to occur. Work and closures are weather permitting.

Motorists on northbound Interstate 684 wanting to travel east on Interstate 84 are advised to follow the marked detour, which will direct them to Exit 10 (Route 6/202), then to Route 6/202 West to Interstate 684 South to Exit 9E (Interstate 84 East).

Motorists may experience delays.

Drivers are asked to use caution when traveling through the work area and pay particular attention to all traffic control devices, including work zone signs and flaggers.

Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
