Redding Homeowner Catches Danbury Teen Stealing His Dirtbikes

Police say they are still searching for the Danbury teen's accomplice.

A Redding homeowner wasn’t going to let someone steal his dirtbikes and took matters into his own hands.

Redding police say Marte Keffry, 18, of Danbury, and another suspect tried to steal two dirtbikes from a garage in Redding around 1:30 a.m. on Christmas Eve, WTNH News 8 reports.

The homeowners confronted the suspects, and was able to detain one until police arrived. Keffry suffered a minor knife would while struggling with the homeowner, police said.

Police are still searching for the second suspect, who was last seen wearing a Boston Red Sox hat, News 8 reports.

According to News 8, the suspect may be driving a black full size pickup truck with an extended cab. Police said the truck may have tinted windows and a racing flag (black and white checkered) on the antenna.
