Fire officials said a resident and a dog were led to safety by a passerby after a fire broke out at a two-story home in Danbury.

DANBURY, CT — A resident and a dog were led to safety by a passerby after a fire broke out Wednesday morning at a two-story home in Danbury, according to fire officials.

In a Facebook post, fire officials said Danbury communications received multiple reports of a fire on Crown Street around 8:15 a.m.

When crews arrived, they found fire showing from a window on the second floor of a two-story home, according to fire officials.

The sole occupant of the house and a dog were led to safety by a passerby. No injuries were reported, fire officials said.

The fire was extinguished within 20 minutes, according to fire officials. The cause of the blaze is under investigation by the Danbury Fire Marshal's Office.
