Senator Julie Kushner will Protect Women's Healthcare

I wholeheartedly endorse State Senator Julie Kushner’s campaign for re-election. Senator Kushner's position on women's healthcare reinforces the rights that women in Connecticut have fought hard to secure. She advocates for abortion access, women’s healthcare and the autonomy and dignity of women in difficult situations.

This is not just a matter of political difference; it's a woman’s fundamental right to make personal healthcare decisions. Politicians who want to restrict abortion access are creating havoc on healthcare decisions, especially for miscarriage care – where procedures such as a D&C (dilation and curettage) are similar to those used in abortion. This stance forces doctors to operate in a climate of fear. Physicians should be fully able to provide essential care, especially life-saving treatment, without hesitation.
Having needed critical medical treatment a month after experiencing a miscarriage, I am grateful to reside in a state where I received prompt care. Every woman should have access to the same quality of care and our state leaders are our primary defenders of these rights.
Julie continues to stand up against politicians who advocate criminalizing reproductive healthcare, jailing women seeking abortions and prosecuting doctors. Senator Kushner supported CT legislation that expanded protections for women’s access proper medical care and shields medical providers from negative repercussions.
Our state is a leader in safeguarding these rights, and we must continue this effort. Voting for Julie means preserving autonomy in women's health. We need leaders who defend our rights, not dismantle them.
