According to the "Special Weather Statement" from the National Weather Service a light mix of snow and sleet will develop after midnight across parts of New York and around rush hour in Connecticut the wintry precipitation becomes "more likely with light accumulations of snow and sleet."

Early Thursday morning, the weather service states, the snow and sleet will mix with rain and become all rain by noon.
