Special Weather Statement Issued for Danbury

DANBURY, CT — The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement for Fairfield and Litchfield Counties on Saturday.

There will be very dry conditions across the state on Saturday and Sunday. Fire weather officials are alerting residents on the dangers of fire weather potential.

"While winds will be light," the NWS said, "a dry air mass with relative humidity values of 15 to 25 percent and dry fuels will lead to this elevated state."

Residents are urged not to burn anything as flying embers could lead to brush fires.

• Saturday Night: Clear, with a low around 34. North wind around 9 mph.
• Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 58. Wind chill values between 30 and 40 early. North wind around 8 mph.
• Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 39. Light and variable wind.
• Monday: Partly sunny, with a high near 68. South wind 6 to 11 mph.
• Monday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between midnight and 3am, then showers likely after 3am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 49. South wind 5 to 7 mph becoming light and variable after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
• Tuesday: Rain likely. Cloudy, with a high near 56. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
• Tuesday Night: A chance of rain before 9pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 40. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
