State Attorney General Probing Travel Company that Cancelled Trip for Danbury Students

Families who paid for the trip say they were not refunded money after the trip was cancelled.

DANBURY, CT — Just one year ago, families of high schoolers were planning to take a take a trip of a life time. Now the families' students were unable to have the experience of international travel, and to make matters worse, they are out around $3,000, reports the News Times.

The state attorney general is investigating a travel company that canceled a trip to France, Morocco and Spain for high school students just two days before the students were set to leave for the trip. The operator of Lifetime Excursions LLC had cancelled the trip because he became ill, and had canceled a similar trip for a school group in Amity.

The operator Noah Ashford told the Department of Consumer Protection that the money had already been paid to airlines, hotels, tour guides and other expenses, and was trying to get the parents' money back through insurance.
