State Rep. Smith Will Not Seek Re-election

Smith, a Republican, is in his fifth term representing Connecticut's 108th House District.

DANBURY, CT — State Representative Richard A. Smith has announced he will not be seeking re-election.

Smith, a Republican, is in his fifth term representing Connecticut’s 108th House District, which includes Sherman, most of New Fairfield and parts of New Milford and Danbury.

"Serving in the state’s House of Representatives has been the honor of a lifetime, and I’ll be forever grateful for the people of this district for placing their faith in me over the years," Smith said in a press release Tuesday.

Smith, whose term ends in January, is currently policy chair of the House Republican Caucus.
