Stephen Schwartz Biographer Speaks at Immaculate HS
Carol de Giere, Mr. Schwartz's biographer, visited with the cast and crew of the upcoming show at Immaculate High School in Danbury.
DANBURY, CT - Academy, Grammy, and Tony Award winner Stephen Schwartz is the lyricist and composer of this year's spring musical at Immaculate High School, PIPPIN.
On February 27, 2019, Carol de Giere, Mr. Schwartz's biographer, visited with the cast and crew of the upcoming show at Immaculate. Ms. de Giere discussed the history of the musical, as well as the cultural and musical influences that inspired Mr. Schwartz to write and compose various songs in the musical.
The show's director/choreographer Matthew Farina posted: "It was a very unique opportunity for the cast and crew of PIPPIN to have someone so close to the creator of the musical come and join them at a rehearsal." Performance of PIPPIN are scheduled for May 2, 3, and 4 at Immaculate HS.
