Student Wins Big With Lottery Ticket Bought in Danbury

The lucky student won $25,000 that she plans on putting towards college.

A lucky New Fairfield resident entering entering her second year of college collected $25,000 in a CT Lottery Instant Game.

“A couple days ago, my uncle bought a ‘Golden Casino’ ticket and brought it home,” Linday Williams, 19 told Lottery officials. “He said, ‘I’m feeling lucky. Let’s scratch the ticket together.’ So, we sat down and took turns scratching it.”

Out of the 20 chances to win in the game, the duo won 20 times for a total prize win of $25,000.

Williams, who will be entering her second year of college this fall, accepted a $25,000 prize check (before taxes) from lottery officials at CT Lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill.

Williams plans on putting the money in her bank account to go towards college.

Williams’ $25,000 second prize winning Golden Casino ticket was purchased at All Star Energy located at 133 Padanaram Road in Danbury. For selling the prize winning ticket, the All Star Energy will receive a $250 check from the CT Lottery.
