Suspect In Fatal Danbury Shooting Now In Custody: Police
A gun was discharged in a Danbury apartment complex on Jan. 7, with the bullet traveling through a wall and fatally injuring his neighbor.

DANBURY, CT — The man Danbury police say is responsible for the shooting death of his neighbor on Jan. 7 has turned himself in to police.
According to the Danbury Police Department, the suspect — David Grullon Jr., 42, (aka "Davidcito"), of 43 Lake Ave., Danbury — was taken into custody on Thursday evening, Jan. 15.
Police said he was charged with second-degree manslaughter, criminal possession of a pistol/revolver, two counts of risk of injury to a minor, illegal discharge of a firearm, second-degree breach of peace, and first-degree reckless endangerment.

Grullon, who was taken into custody without incident, is being held on a $1 million bond pending an appearance in court, police said.
Last week, police issued a warrant for his arrest shortly after the Jan. 7 shooting.

"This matter remains under investigation," wrote the Danbury Police Department in a release Friday morning. "No additional information will be released at this time to protect the integrity of the case."
According to the DPD, police were called to Lake Avenue for a report of a shooting at about 8:37 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7.
The DPD said "preliminary information" indicates a firearm was discharged inside a townhouse, with a single round traveling through a wall and striking a neighbor who was inside their home at the time.
Police said the victim was rushed to the hospital and later pronounced dead.
The victim has been identified as 37-year-old Victor Quispe of Danbury.
Quispe was a well-known barber in town and was engaged to be married and had a baby on the way.
Grullon appeared in Danbury Superior Court on Friday and, according to WTNH Channel 8, evidence indicates the shooting was accidental, with the judge calling it a "tragedy."
WTNH, citing court proceedings and the arrest affidavit, reported that Quispe was shot in the head while sitting on his couch, eating dinner.
Grullon, according to WTNH, is a convicted felon and is not allowed to own a firearm.
